Workshop on Smart Grid Technology Seminar

NEDO, METI, MNRE (GOI), MOP (GOI) and JSCA (Japan Smart Community Alliance) will hold a seminar, Smart Grid Technology Seminar,” on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in NOIDA. The seminar will provide an unique opportunity for international government leaders, business enterprises and research organizations to update and exchange of information and views regarding smart grid issues which are increasingly drawing worldwide attention. It will also focus on the current status and challenges of smart grid development as well as how international cooperation should be promoted.
Purpose of the Seminar
Smart grid-related activities have grown rapidly all over the world as New and Renewable Energy is increasing. Encouraged by this, many stakeholders around the world (including India) have become very active in their endeavors to advance smart grid market development. As a result, intergovernmental cooperation and collaboration is now essential in promoting smart grid community towards low carbon society.
In light of the above, this seminar will help establish meaningful relationships among international stakeholders involved with smart grid development. It will also facilitate the exchange of information regarding the approaches to smart grid development taken by the various countries, as well as the trend and future outlook for global standardization and international development activities.
NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) was established as an autonomous organization in 1980 by the Japanese government (under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan) to strategically prioritize and promote research and development projects on new energy, energy conservation and environmental technology by means of government, industry and academic cooperation.
